The Serebryanka (Silver) spring is one of the most famous springs in Belarus.
The name of the Serebryanka farm, which existed near the spring in the early 20th century, originated from the spring stream. Now the clearing and the forest around the spring are called the Serebryanka tract.
The spring stream flows into the Leshnya River. There are legends about the amazing properties of water from the spring. As if she has a living force, heals, gives vital energy. The locals have long trodden a path to the spring. In the old days, a water carrier from the estate of the Rossonian landowner Glazko also drove up here. The master knew that there was no cleaner water in the whole area.
According to legend, the villagers of Klyastitsy performed the first ablution of a newborn with water from a silver well. There was also a special rite for women's health. On the night of Ivan Kupala, peasant women came to Krinitsa, waiting for the first shooting star. A new white handkerchief was dipped three times into the place of the spring where it was reflected, then they wiped their face three times with a wet handkerchief and quickly went home. It was impossible to turn around. There was also a herbalist near the spring who used spring water as a base for her infusions.
People come not only from different parts of Belarus, but also from other places to swim in Serebryanka for Epiphany. This spring was studied by Belarusian scientists and indeed silver ions were found in the water. Thanks to them, the water is purified and acquires medicinal properties. People say that this water is very tasty, it can be stored for 7-8 months and does not spoil.
In winter, krinitsa does not freeze, the temperature in this spring does not change and is plus 6 degrees, regardless of the time of year. A rare plant listed in the Red Book grows around the spring - Cinna broadleaf (the first category of protection).
For the convenience of tourists, there is a chapel (a small Catholic chapel). and a swimming pool. There is a well in the chapel.
In 2015, Serebryanka was re-illuminated by the rector of the Church of the Ascension of the Lord in Rossony. In place of the former dilapidated chapel, a new one appeared not so long ago. Now Serebryanka shone with golden domes under the new log cabins installed above the well and the swimming pool.
A path was paved to the spring, and benches decorated with wooden sculptures were set up. A streamlet flows out of the spring, the water in it does not freeze even at a temperature of 30 degrees below zero.
In winter, Serebryanka resembles a picture from a fairy tale: snow sparkles on golden domes, and a small stream runs below - a symbol of warmth and life.
The picturesque place is simply fascinating. Believers also call the Silver spring the Forerunner spring, in honor of John the Baptist.
