Kievichi. Spaso-Voznesenskaya Church.
In the village of Kievichi, Kopyl district, the stone Savior-Ascension Orthodox Church was built. The temple is located on the outskirts of the village at the local cemetery. Originally, there was a church on this site, which was built during the time of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania in 1752. It is possible that the temple originally belonged to Uniate believers.
The new stone church was built during the time of the Russian Empire in 1882. Funds for the construction of the church were collected by local parishioners. After the Great Patriotic War, the shrine was closed. The building gradually fell into disrepair.
In the last years of the Soviet Union, the building was handed over to Orthodox believers. The temple was in ruins. Funds began to be raised for the restoration. Gradually, the temple was restored.
The monument was erected in the neo-Russian style. It has an elongated axial composition. The building is brick and plastered. It consists of four main parts: the vestibule, the refectory, the prayer hall and the apse. A multi-tiered bell tower is built over the vestibule. Above the main volume is a massive octagonal light drum. The light drum has double and triple window openings.
The church has the status of historical and cultural value.
