Karpilovka. Park and oak-the patriarch of the estate of Yadvigin Sh.

In the Logoi district, along the R-58 road from Minsk to Myadel, there is a small village of Karpilovka, where there is a park and an oak the patriarch on the site of the estate of the writer Yadvigin Sh.

During the time of the Russian Empire, until 1832, the estate belonged to Teklya Levitskaya. In those days it was a small farm.

In 1832, Karpilovka was acquired by the grandfather of the Belarusian writer Anton Levitsky, Franz Levitsky. Anton Ivanovich Levitsky (1869-1922) was a Belarusian literary critic, poet, novelist, publicist, playwright and politician. One of the founders of the Belarusian modern fiction. He is known under the pseudonym Yadvigin S.

Then, in the 1880s, Ivan Levitsky, the writer's father, became the owner of the farm. After Levitsky's death, the folwark passed to Anton Levitsky (Jadwigin Sh).

In 1897, Anton built a new wooden house with a veranda and a mezzanine. A large garden and park were planted. Exotic trees are imported: Canadian maple, silver poplar, larches. In the estate, the writer gathered a large library, where there were publications in French and Polish.

Yanka Kupala often visited the estate. Jadwigin Sh had a great influence on the young Kupala, and it is believed that after that Kupala began to write in the Belarusian language. After all, at first the poet wrote in Polish. And that's why Yadvigin Sh is called the godfather of Yanka Kupala. Kupala took books to read here, and read his new works.

In the spring of 1912, Ya. Kupala read his play "Pavlinka" for the first time here. Kupala became the godfather for Jadwigin's granddaughters, Olesya and Lucia.

The famous writer of the classics of Belarusian literature, Maxim Bogdanovich, Zmitrok Biadulya and Vladislav Golubok, also came here to Karpilovka.

Now a memorial boulder with a signboard has been installed on the site of the estate, the park and the patriarch oak have partially been preserved, on the branches of which ribbons are hung "for luck".
