Idolta. Milosh Chapel.
In the town of Idolta there is a Catholic church at the entrance from the Miory – Druya highway and there is a Catholic chapel – the tomb of the local lords of Milosh.
The chapel is not easy to find. You need to drive from the highway to the place itself. Get to the stone palace, which will be on the left of the road, and you should turn right and go through outbuildings and private houses to the peninsula, which is located near a large lake. Here, on the shore of the lake on the hill itself, you will see a chapel among tall trees.
The "old Church", as the local people call the chapel, was built by Eugene Milosh in 1862 near the Milosh estate. His wife Emilia was buried here, and later Eugene Milosh himself and his descendants found their rest here. Divine services and Mass were held in the chapel for the whole neighborhood and Catholic believers from all over the Idolta came here.
In Soviet times, the chapel was closed and the temple was looted. Coffins with the dead were thrown out of the building. According to the memoirs of local residents, those Komsomol activists who broke open coffins ended their lives very badly afterwards. Later, a warehouse was made in the building for the needs of the local collective farm.
The chapel is a stone building in the classical style. The main facade is decorated with a triangular pediment and decorated with 4 pilasters. A small tower is built over the entrance.
