Gudogai. The Church of the Visitation of the Blessed Virgin Mary.

The small wooden church of the Visitation of the Mother of God is located on the outskirts of the village of Gudogai. It is built on a small hill, from where, with good visibility, you can see the neighboring villages and the town of Ostrovets.

This church, being the main attraction of the village, attracts the attention of travelers and tourists. It was built in the 18th century. The church building stands out with a rectangular log cabin, a common roof with plastically curved hips above a pentagonal apse. On the side of the main facade there is a single-tiered, frame, square bell tower with a tent end. It is known that earlier the church was double-towered and faceted domes rose on its sides from the pediment. 

Initially, the temple was part of the monastery complex of the Carmelite monks. However, it was closed in 1830. The parishioners bought the church building. Since 1906, divine services have begun again in the church building. In 1920, a significant reconstruction of the temple took place.

On the territory of the temple there is a summer amphitheater and a number of small monuments reflecting biblical scenes. The church of the village of Gudogai houses a miraculous icon of the Mother of God, which was worshiped back in the 17th century. The interior is also decorated with three wooden altars in the style of early classicism of the late 18th century.

Today, the church attracts tourists interested in history and architecture. Its picturesque location surrounded by nature makes it a popular place to visit by both locals and tourists.

The Church of the Visitation of the Mother of God in Gudogai is not just a religious building, but also an important part of the cultural heritage of Belarus.
