The Tolstoy family estate in Grudinovka

The estate was built in the late 18th - early 19th century. The first owner of the estate, Dmitry Alexandrovich Tolstoy, having received land from Catherine II, founded his family estate here. The last owner of the estate in Grudinovka was Countess Alexandra Grigoryevna Tolstaya. At her own expense, she built and maintained the Ryzhkovskaya hospital near Grudinovka, which has survived to this day.

Today, the count's house of the Tolstoy family has been preserved quite well on the outside. We see a two-story building with a dome, columns, a grand staircase, and a balcony overlooking the park and fountain. Two one-story wings adjoin the building.

Next to the Tolstoy estate, a park was laid out with ancient oaks, pines, thujas, lindens and a pond in the very center. Among the trees, you can also find Siberian cedar. However, now the park is overgrown, many trees have died. And in 1963, the Grudinovsky Park was given the status of a natural monument and landscape art of republican significance.

During the Great Patriotic War, the estate housed a hospital. After the war, there were a secondary school, a boarding school, and a sanatorium for children at various times. rheumatism.

Inside, elements of the decoration of the estate of the representatives of the count's family have been partially preserved. Arches, columns, massive railings, light tiles. In some places, the plaster ceiling with original moldings, decorated with ceilings and beams, has been preserved.

Since Soviet times, when there were social institutions here, characteristic drawings on socialist themes have been preserved on the walls – red stars, flags, a hammer and sickle.

In general, unfortunately, the estate is in a deplorable state, losing its original beauty year after year. One can only hope that it will definitely wait for restoration.

In the meantime, I recommend this place to those who love abandoned buildings)
