Grodno. Karl Marx Street. Kostelkovsky's house.
In the city of Grodno, on K. Marx Street (at number 5), there is an old stone building, which is known as the Kostelkovsky House. The building is two-storeyed, built during the Russian Empire in 1870 in the eclectic style. It has the status of historical and cultural value.
The house is built of brick, plastered. There is an arched passage on the ground floor. The facade on the ground floor has lost its decor after the renovation. Decorations and a cast-iron balcony are available on the second floor.
The first owners of this building were the Kostelkovskys. The famous historian Stanislav Kostelkovsky (1881-1960)– a professor at Stefan Batory University in Vilnius, a Belarusian and Polish historian, lived in the house.
The next owners of the property are the Filkevichs. Doctor Engelgard had an apartment in the building. Razvadovsky and Antonovich's pharmacy, Berta Tipograf's store, Abram Vilin's store, Kaetan Savinsky's hairdresser and Elia Latskaya's pharmacy warehouse also worked.
There are several shops in the building now, including a beauty salon.
