Description
In Grodno, on Eliza Ozheshko Street, there is a sculpture of the "Architect of Gorodnitsa". The bronze sculpture was installed in September 2008 and was created by Alexander Antipin, who said that the image of the sculpture is collective. But there is an opinion that this is an image of the famous Italian architect of that time, Giuseppe de Sacco (1735-1798), who was engaged in the construction of this quarter called Gorodnitsa.
In the 18th century, when Gorodnitsa was being built, it was on the outskirts of Grodno, now it is a historical center. The construction was carried out on the initiative of the public and political figure A. Tizengauz. Since the 18th century, several buildings have been preserved from the Gorodnitsa, including the Craftsman's House on E. Ozheshko Street.

Grodno. Monument to the architect.
In Grodno, on Eloisa Ozheshko Street, which is one of the most ancient and beautiful streets in the city, there are several monuments and commemorative signage dedicated to prominent figures and events.
In 2008, the sculpture "Architect of Gorodnitsa" was installed. The bronze sculpture was created by Alexander Antipin, who said that the image of sculpture is collective.
In this area, in the second half of the 18th century, during the time of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania, a whole new Gorodnitsa quarter was created on the outskirts of Grodno, which was created as a cultural and industrial center for one and a half thousand people. The construction was carried out according to the project of architects Johann Meser and Giuseppe Sacco. The Gorodnitsa was built on the initiative of Anitony Tiesenhaus (1733-1785), a well-known political and public figure, philanthropist and mayor of the city of Grodno.
It is believed that the sculpture of the "Architect of Gorodnitsa" is an image of the famous architect of that time Giuseppe de Sacco (1735-1798). The architect was born in Italy. He worked in the Baroque and classical styles. He was invited to work in Grodno, where he supervised the construction under A. Tizengauz.
The architect arrived in Grodno in 1771, where he was enlisted as a lieutenant of the military garrison in Grodno and appointed to the post of architect of "His Royal Majesty" King of the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth Stanislav August Poniatowski.
Under Sacco's supervision, royal manufactories were built in Grodno, a new royal castle was rebuilt, and many other projects were implemented in the city and in Belarus. He was buried in Grodno at the Catholic Orthodox Cemetery.
