In Grodno, a few steps from the ancient castles, at the intersection of David Gorodensky Street and Zamkova Street, tourists are greeted by a monument dedicated to Prince David Gorodensky. The headman of Grodno, Prince David Gorodensky (1283-1326), left a great mark on the history of Grodno.
In 2018, a monument was erected, which is made of gray granite. According to legend, the prince was buried in Grodno near the Kolozha Church.

Grodno. Monument to Prince David Gorodensky.
A few years ago, a monument to Prince David Gorodensky was erected in the very center of Grodno. A city competition was held, a sponsor was found, this is entrepreneur Anatoly Korobach, and with the support of the Grodno Orthodox Diocese, the monument was erected on David Gorodensky Street right on the way to the Grodno castles.
Prince David Gorodensky (1283-1326) was the headman of Grodno, an outstanding commander of the time of the Grand Duke Gediminas of Lithuania. The exploits of the prince are described in many literary and historical sources.
During the competition, 13 projects were proposed. The sculptor Sergey Oganov won. The monument was created for several months and was inaugurated in June 2018. The weight of the monument is 16 tons, and the height is 3.7 meters. The sculpture is made of granite. Prince David Gorodensky holds the cross of Euphrosyne of Polotsk in his left hand and a sword in his right. On the back of the monument there is a shield and the Kolozhskaya Church, near which the prince was buried.
The monument bears the inscription "to the glorious ancestor, the son of St. Timothy (Dovmont) and St. Martha, the courageous Defender of the Fatherland with sincere gratitude from the descendants of the Grodno diocese of the Belarusian Orthodox Church and patron of the Korobach Anatoly Anatolyevich."
