An important architectural monument of the city of Grodno.

The palace was built according to the design of the royal architect Giuseppe Sacco. It had three floors, one-story side "wings". The side risalites resembling towers were clearly distinguished in the composition. Adjacent to the building was a greenhouse connecting the palace with the extant Tiesenhaus Palace.

The first tier of the main facade was decorated with rustication.  In general, the facade was decorated with pilasters and blades. All this created a harmonious appearance of the building. The interior interiors were marked by sophistication, using decorative stucco and artistic painting.

Initially, the building was intended to house the Royal Medical Academy, the first higher educational institution among those established on the territory of modern Belarus. The academy had a hospital, an anatomical study, a zoological museum, a library, and a botanical garden with rich collections of plants.

After the academy was transferred to Vilna, the building became the property of the Princes of Chetvertinsky. The Chetvertinsky family had a rich history and was known for its prominent role at the royal court. In the middle of the 19th century, it housed an art gallery and a rich collection of weapons.

In 1890, the famous historian, archaeologist and local historian Jozef Iodkovsky was born here.

In the post-war years, the house was used for courts, and later, until 2000, it housed the military commandant's office.

Today, the Chetvertinsky Palace is an object of cultural and historical heritage, and its condition requires attention and restoration. Nevertheless, this place attracts the attention of tourists and researchers interested in Belarusian history and architecture.

It is known that the interior of the palace has not been preserved. Now the building is surrounded by a fence, restoration work is underway in it.  Hopefully, its historical value will be restored.

The Chetvertinsky Palace in Grodno is not only an architectural gem, but also an important element of the historical heritage of Belarus. Its history and beauty continue to impress people, inspiring them to explore the history and culture of the region.
