Description

In Grodno, on Sovetskaya pedestrian street, there is a 19th-century architectural monument, the Ratner House. In 1902, there was a shoe store by Shmuel Gordon in the building. Since 1903, the Trokenitsky bookstore. In 1920, the headquarters of the 10th Cavalry Division of the Red Army was located here. In 1927, the building housed the editorial office of the Polish-language newspaper Glos Pravda of the Grodno Land, and since 1928 the building has been owned by the Rolniczy Syndicate. There was a store selling cameras by A. Maisel.

After the war, there was an office called "Zagotlen" and "Sports Goods". The 'Optika' store is currently open.

Grodno. Ratner's house.

In Grodno, Ratner's House (house number 25) is located on Sovetskaya pedestrian street. The monument was built in the 1870s and 1890s during the Russian Empire in the Art Nouveau style. In 1902, the building housed a shoe store by Shmuel Gordon. Since 1903, the Trokenitsky bookstore.


During the Civil War in 1920, the headquarters of the 10th Cavalry Division of the Red Army was located here. From 1921, after the Peace of Riga, Grodno was part of the Polish state until 1939. In 1927, the editorial office of the Polish-language newspaper 'Voice of Truth of the Grodno Land' was opened in the building. The newspaper's editor was Jan Jankowski.

Since 1928, the building has been owned by the Rolnichy Syndicate.

In 1939, there was a store selling cameras by A. Maisel.

In the period before the war in 1940-1941, the Voentorg photo workshop was located, which operated after the war in the autumn of 1945.

Then there was the 'Zagotlen' office, a store selling cigarettes and tobacco. Since 1964, the department store's branch has been the sporting goods section "Sporting Goods". Since 1971, the 'Berezka' store, where has been selling goods for foreign currency. Since 1982, the 'Bukinist' bookstore.


The 'Optika' store is currently open. The building is adjacent to houses No. 23 and 27.
