Description
There is a stone Catholic church of Peter and Paul in the Grodno region in the town of Gozha. The temple was built during the Russian Empire in the 19th century in the Neo-Gothic style. The main facade is flanked by eight-on-four multi-tiered towers. There is a triangular pediment between the towers. The building was built of rubble stone using a raisin laying. The interior of the temple is of a rectangular type, which is divided into three naves by six square columns. There is a miraculous icon of the Mother of God from the 16th century. The church is functioning.

Gozha. The Church of Peter and Paul.
In the center of the town of Gozha, Grodno region, there is a stone Catholic church of Peter and Paul. The place has been known since the 13th century. In the 13th century, during the time of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania, it was the property of Grand Duke Vytautas.
In 1494, the first Catholic parish was founded and a wooden Catholic church was built. In the 16th century, the place passed to Nikolai Patz. Again, the property of the Grand Duke. At that time, the town had about 500 households and had the right to Magdeburg self-government. In the middle of the 17th century, during the war between the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth, the Swedes and the Kingdom of Moscow, the town and the church were burned down.
After the war, the Doge and the church were rebuilt in a new location. There was a miraculous icon in the temple, which has been preserved to our time. During the Northern War, the town was burned down by the Swedes and fell into complete disrepair. After the third partition of the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth as part of the Russian Empire, the Grodno district of the Grodno province. At the end of the 18th century, the owner of the local estate was Julian Silvestrovich.
In 1862-1865, a stone Catholic church of the Holy Apostles Peter and Paul was built in the village on the site of an old wooden church. A plebania has been erected near the temple.
During the First World War, the village suffered greatly from the shelling of the Kaiser's troops, but the church was not affected. During the Soviet era, the church was not closed. There is a parish museum at the shrine. A rubble stone fence has been erected around the temple.
