Gorodok. Watermill.
The town of Gorodok in the Molodechno district has a long history and quite a lot of ancient monuments have been preserved here. The stone Trinity Church of the 19th century rises above the village in the very center. There was once a castle of its own here, from which the Castle Hill has been preserved-a hill in the center of the town. There is a stone synagogue building, a civil building and other ancient monuments.
Researchers suggest that the first written mentions date back to the 12th century. During the time of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania, the place belonged to the magnates Radziwills, then passed to the Kadnitsky family, who built their manor here. In the 19th century, the Tyshkevichi became the owners here.
On the outskirts of the town near the reservoir, the building of a stone watermill has been preserved. Some people mistake this majestic multi-storey building for some kind of palace or manor house. But this is an ordinary industrial building, a former watermill.
The West Berezina River flows here, where this mill was built at the end of the 19th century. The building is three-storeyed with an attic. It is built of rubble stone and brick. In terms of the mill has a rectangular shape. There is a side shaft for the turbine. On the ground floor there were 3 positions with millstones for coarse and fine grinding of grain, and there was also a grain grinder. It was all powered by a water turbine.
The facades of the mill have a rich decor. The building is now in a neglected state.
