Gorodnaya. Holy Trinity Church.
To the west of the district town of Stolin there is an ancient village of Gorodnaya with several historical monuments. The Orthodox Church of the Holy Trinity of the 18th century was built in the middle of the village. The church was built during the time of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania and belonged to believers of the Uniate denomination. In the 19th century, during the period of the Russian Empire, when Uniatism was banned, the church passed to the Orthodox. The church was significantly rebuilt in the 1930s, when the town was part of the Polish state. At that time, a four–ring bell tower was added to the church.
The church was built in the traditions of Polesie folk wooden architecture. The building consists of three main parts: a vestibule, a prayer hall and an apse. A bell tower is built over the vestibule, which is covered with a four-pitched roof. The main volume, along with the apse, is covered with a hip roof, which is completed with a four-sided drum with a small onion dome.
The interior features an iconostasis, choirs, and ancient icons from the 17th and 18th centuries. Among the icons there are "Mother of God", "Saint Nicholas", "Pantokrator the Savior" and "Mother of God of Czenstochowo".
