Gorodishche. Church of the Blessed Virgin Mary.
In the Baranovichi district, in the town of Gorodishche, there are many historical sites and architectural monuments. There is an ancient stone Catholic church in the center of the village. The temple was built in the 17th – 18th century near the shopping area.
The first wooden church in the village was built back in the 15th century at the expense of Nekros Volodkovich, or the magnates of Khodkevichi. The stone Trinity Church was also built. In the 17th century, both churches fell into disrepair and a Calvinist cathedral was erected nearby. Then the collection was rebuilt as a church at the expense of Gavrila Kerlo.
After the second partition of the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth in 1793, the settlement became part of the Russian Empire. After the anti-Russian uprising of 1863-1864, under the leadership of Kastus Kalinovsky, the church was rebuilt as an Orthodox church.
During the First World War, the building was heavily damaged. In 1919, the building was returned to the Catholics. During the period of the Polish state in the 1930s, the church was renovated and rebuilt. The monument was built in the Baroque style. A single-nave church with a gable roof.
