Description
Ivanovo, also known as Yanovo, is located in the Brest region, 142 km from the city of Brest. Ivanovo is a small town and not the most famous, but it has still managed to preserve the spirit of the real Polesie. From 1921 to 1939, it was part of Poland. Ivanovo is inextricably linked with two historical figures - the very talented artist Napoleon Horde and the religious preacher Andrei Baboley.

A small and cozy town of Polesie.
Not far from Ivanovo was the family estate of Napoleon Orda. Today there is a museum complex operating here. Thanks to the paintings and sketches of the artist, it was possible to restore many architectural buildings and buildings of the past centuries. The ancestral tomb of the Hordes was also located there. This place is now marked by a memorial sign. The only monument in Europe to the artist was also erected in the city of Ivanovo.
Once this city was a prosperous Polesie town. Representatives of different peoples have long lived here, which is reflected in the architecture of the city. It is based on stone houses built before the revolution. The Holy Cross Church and the Intercession Church are considered the decoration and pride of the city.
Holy Cross Church is one of the most important places of worship for Andrei Babol, one of the most prominent religious figures, who is constantly visited by a huge number of believers. His active preaching activity led to his death. He was captured by Bohdan Khmelnytsky's Cossacks and killed. Nowadays, Bobola is revered as the Patron Saint of Polesie. The church was built in 1848. The year of construction is indicated on its facade. The building is without towers, rectangular, covered with a gable roof. The facade is decorated with niches and pilasters. In one corner of the fence, around the territory, there is a small chapel built in. It is located approximately at the place where the Saint was executed. Nowadays, two Crosses have been installed at the place of his captivity - a Catholic and an Orthodox one, as a symbol of condemnation of Baboli's execution by all true Christians.
The city of Ivanovo is a very popular pilgrimage destination for many Poles and Catholics in Belarus. The temple was built 200 years after the death of St. Andrew Baboli.
Another important architectural landmark of the city of Ivanovo is the Intercession Church, built in 1901 with a donation from parishioners. It is located next to the church in the central square of the city. This once again shows that Christians of various faiths have lived peacefully in Belarus for centuries. At various times, the church had both a hospital and a stable. However, they say that in the hospital where the German soldiers were, not one of them survived, even with minor wounds, and the horses were sick and dying. In the sixties, the temple was empty, it was planned to close, but the parishioners defended their shrine. In 1995, the temple was reconstructed. Today the temple is a monument of pseudo-Russian style of architecture. The view of the temple is interesting: bright blue bathing pools rising to the same blue skies. The church is conventionally divided into four parts - a high three-tiered bell tower, a small refectory, the main volume of the temple and part of the altar (asp). The temple is decorated with cornices and pilasters. The church houses the highly venerated icon of the Mother of God "Pochaevskaya", which in 1999 began to exude myrrh.
Here it is such a small and cozy city of Polesie. On the last Saturday of May, Ivanovo celebrates the City Day and always warmly and hospitably welcomes guests from different parts of Belarus and other places.
