The building of the Russian-Asian Bank in Gomel is an architectural monument in the neoclassical style of the early 20th century.

Among other architectural monuments of the beginning of the last century along Sovetskaya Street in Gomel is most famous for the building of the former Russian-Asian Bank, which today also performs all the same banking functions. Today, the main office of the National Bank of the country for the Gomel region is located there.

The branch of the Northern Bank of the Russian Empire in Gomel began operating in 1903. Russian Russian-Asian Bank and the Northern and Russian-Chinese Bank merged 7 years later and the Russian-Asian Bank was formed. For 2 years, until 1912, a new building on Rumyantsevskaya Street, now Sovetskaya, was erected under the branch of the new bank designed by Oscar Muntz. After the Bolsheviks came to power, the bank was nationalized, and various financial and credit structures were located in the building over the years.

The bank's building is designed in the neoclassical style. The main dominant feature of the building is a corner tower with a dome. The house is quite richly decorated with stucco. The upper tier features 2 sculptures: the god of trade, profit and enrichment of ancient Roman mythology, Mercury, and a sculpture of a woman.

Today, the two-story building of the Russian-Asian Bank does not complete the series of buildings of the late 19th and early 20th centuries along Sovetskaya Street in Gomel. However, it is one of the most interesting and striking of its representatives, attracting the attention of tourists.
