It was built in the classical style with Baroque elements. It served as Count Rumyantsev's summer palace. Despite the fact that the building was rebuilt several times during the 19th century, it is still possible to get an idea of its original appearance.

The building of the former theological college is an architectural monument of the 18th and 19th centuries
The construction of the building began in 1799 on the high bank of the Sozh River in order to educate the children of priests, who at that time formed a separate estate.
The building was designed by architect John Clark. In 1819, the construction was completed: the main building was wooden, there were two main halls on the ground floor, and living rooms for students on the second floor.
In the second half of the 19th century, the building was radically rebuilt and made of stone. In 1880, a theological seminary was opened here. In June 1919, cadets of the 23rd infantry courses of the Red commanders, who were transferred from Minsk, appeared within its walls. These cadets not only studied, but also actively participated in the fight against insurgency and banditry. In the spring of 1920, they stopped the offensive of the Polish army of Jozef Pilsudski near Rechitsa, fighting against well-armed Polish legions. In memory of this feat, a memorial plaque was erected on the seminary building in 1966.
In the pre-war period, the building housed a seven—year-old school with the Belarusian language of instruction, and in the post-war period, school No. 15, where students passed on the legend of an underground passage leading from the basement of the school to the Sozh River.
In the 80s, the educational and production complex of the CPC No. 3 was located here, where schoolchildren mastered various working professions.
Currently, the academic building of Gomel State Medical University is located in the building of the former seminary.
