Description
The building of the Palace of Culture of Railway Workers is one of the main architectural dominants of the Forecourt, effectively decorating its southern side. It consists of three clearly defined functional volumes: a theater and concert hall with utility rooms, a club part and a sports hall. These three volumes are combined with each other and form a cozy courtyard, which serves not only as a connecting space, but also as a place to relax and hold various events.
The theater and concert hall is the heart of the palace. It is equipped with everything necessary for large-scale cultural and entertainment events. It hosts theatrical productions, concerts, film screenings and other important events

Gomel. Palace of Culture of Railway Workers
The exteriors of the palace are solemn and majestic, attracting attention with their architectural expressiveness. The main facades are divided into two tiers: the lower — the first floor with rectangular rustication and the upper — the second and third floors with piers, also decorated with rustication of the same type. Columns and pilasters are widely used in the decoration of the building, adding sophistication to it. All the windows of the palace are rectangular in shape, on the ground floor they are decorated with a keystone, and under the windows of the third floor there are window sills. A cornice with decorative dentils runs along the perimeter of the building, which gives the exterior even more expressiveness.
The Lenin Palace of Culture and Technology of Railway Workers has undergone several reconstructions during its existence. The initial design was designed by architect A. Kirillov, and the construction of the building was carried out from 1926 to 1930. The exterior of the palace was designed in the style of constructivism, which was dominant at that time. However, during the Great Patriotic War, the building was partially destroyed as a result of heavy bombing.
The reconstruction plan of the palace after the war was carried out by the Kiev Design Office of the Soyuztransproekt association under the direction of architect I. Pestrakov. The exterior of the building has been radically changed, and the interior layout has been partially revised. The neoclassical style began to dominate the design of the building, in which the entire Forecourt and Lenin Avenue were built. Constructivism in the exterior has been preserved only in the volume of the cinema, which is now used as a sports hall. The reconstruction work was completed in 1950.
In 2000, the cultural complex of RUE "Gomel branch of the Belarusian Railway" was created on the basis of the Palace of Culture of Railway Workers. A sports complex was created in the former cinema, as well as the areas of the theater and concert hall were expanded. On May 6, 2011, the palace reopened its doors after another renovation. Among the club associations, studios and amateur groups operating on its basis, many have the honorary titles of "national" and "exemplary". Among them are the Folk Choir of War and Labor Veterans, the Folk Studio of Modern Ballet "Tandem", the Folk Vocal Ensemble "Gomelchanka", the Folk Theater of Musical Associations "Atman", the Folk Studio of pop Song "Sonore", the exemplary dance ensemble "Druzhba".
In 2023, the building was transferred to the management of the Gomel Regional Philharmonic. The Palace of Culture and Technology of Railway Workers continues to be the center of the cultural life of the city
