Golovchitsy. Church of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross.

There is a place called Golovchitsy in the Drogichin district between Kobrin and Drogichin. A wooden Orthodox church has been built in the village, which dates back to the time of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania.

The first church was built around 1766 by the foundation of the owner of the village, landowner Ugolnikov, and also with the money of the parishioners. According to some reports, there was still an older temple here. During the time of the Russian Empire, in 1875, the building was renovated and a new iconostasis and a new floor were made. At the very beginning of the 20th century, an old church was dismantled in the town of Povitye, Kobrin district, and the building materials were brought to Golovchitsy to repair the church.

During the Great Patriotic War in 1942, there was a severe fire on the feast of Good Friday of Holy Week. The banners and some other temple items were taken out of the church.

At first, services were held at a fire and people went to the neighboring village. Then, with the permission of the German authorities, a new church was rebuilt. And on Easter day in 1943, the service began in the new church. After the war, in Soviet times, the temple was closed and a warehouse was set up here. Then the village club worked here.

At the end of the Soviet Union in 1989, the church was returned to the faithful. Repairs were carried out.
