Gnezno. The Tarasovich Estate

The main dominant feature in the town of Gniezno is the ancient Gothic church of the 16th century. A gentry manor was built on the outskirts of the village near the lake and the park in the 19th century.

The first mention in written sources of Gniezno dates back to the 15th century. The town had several owners. In the 18th century, the manor belonged to the Romer family. And at the beginning of the 19th century it passed to the Tarasovichi, who owned it until 1937. The last owners were the Stashevskys.

The one-story stone palace was built in the 19th century. The central part of the building is two-storeyed with a balcony supported by four pillars. There are 2 wings on both sides of the house: one had a kitchen, and the second had an office.

Next to the palace there is a park, which consists of 2 parts: landscape and regular. Near the park there is a small river Netupa with several ponds.

Several outbuildings located near the palace have survived to our time. The building is a stone refrigerator in the Neo-Gothic style with lancet windows, which is covered with a four-pitched roof. The stable is an elongated stone building with a semicircular entrance gate. At the approach to the estate, a stone frame has been preserved.
