The Church of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary in the village of Glybotskoe is a significant architectural monument built in 1849. It belongs to the pseudo-Russian direction.
The temple was built in the heart of the village in 1849 by a peasant named Karp Leonovich Lutskov at his own expense. The church building is made of wood and stands on a stone foundation. It has a small size, as well as one large central dome and three apses, a wooden two-tiered bell tower with bells.
In 1881, with the help of church funds, public contributions and donations, it was reconstructed. Since that time, the temple stands on a stone foundation and has two domes covered with iron, which increased its capacity.
Since its construction, divine services have been held without interruption, even during the years of Soviet rule, when persecution began against the church. With the exception of periods of severe persecution of the Orthodox Church and believers. At the beginning of collectivization, with the creation of the collective farm "Peski", it was decided to close the temple. After its closure, the parishioners collected many icons and other objects, preserving them until the resumption of divine services. The temple was not destroyed, first grain was stored in it, and then a club was opened.
However, with the outbreak of the Great Patriotic War, the occupation authorities opened the church, and the liturgical life of the parish was restored. After the war, the temple continued to function and was not closed.
In 1992, the Charter of the religious community was registered, and the church resumed its activities. Significant renovation work was carried out in 2015.
Today, the Church of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary is an important element of the historical and cultural heritage of the Republic of Belarus.
