Gantsevichi. Regional Museum of Local Lore.
In the regional town of Gantsevichi in 1997, it was decided to open a museum of local lore. And in 2002, the regional museum of local lore was officially opened and timed to coincide with the jubilee of the national poet Yakub Kolas, who celebrated 120 years since his birth. Yakub Kolas worked for a while as a teacher in the Gantsevichi district.
The Gantsevichi Regional Museum of Local Lore currently has about five thousand exhibits, and the exhibition area is 150 square meters. The main exhibition is located in four halls: "nature". "Archeology", "history", "Peasant hut".
There is a collection on archeology, numismatics, ethnography, photographic materials, icons of the 18th – 20th centuries and others. There are many unique items, such as the wall clock, which was presented by the Emperor of the Russian Empire Alexander III to the former master of the Malkovichi railway station K. Krupenich.
The ethnographic collection consists of Belarusian clothes and costumes, bedspreads, belts, skirts and towels.
The main section of the museum is dedicated to the life and work of Yakub Kolas (1882-1956), who worked as a young teacher in the village of Lyusino, Gantsevichi district.
A significant place in the museum is occupied by materials dedicated to the genocide and the events of the Great Patriotic War.
