The Church of the Holy Spirit in the village of Galichi.
Previously, an all-wooden church was located on this site, located just 30 meters from the new building. The construction of the temple was funded by state funds, but some of the funds were raised by local peasants, and those who did not have money gave bread. The architectural style of the temple belongs to the pseudo-Baroque.
The temple project was developed in Moscow and sent to Galicia for implementation. The construction was led by landowner Hubbenet, who owned land in the surrounding villages. There used to be a cemetery on the site of the temple.
The church was closed in 1930, and after the domes were removed, it was transformed into a club. In the post-war years, a collective farm warehouse was located in the temple building.
At the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries, the bishop of Mogilev visited the church, who left his reviews about it in the local press. He liked the sturdy walls, but there was not enough room for the parishioners and the quality of the choir's singing left much to be desired.
Unfortunately, the Temple of the Holy Spirit is not functioning today. The facade of the building is in poor condition, and the walls look worn out. Despite this, the structure is still intact, the windows have been preserved. Funds are currently being raised to restore this architectural monument. Restoration and repair work is underway here at a slow pace.
