Dyatlovo. Radziwill Palace

During its existence, the town of Dyatlovo had several owners from among the famous gentry ranks of Belarus. At first, the town was owned by the Sapieha magnates, and since the 17th century the Radziwills.

In 1751, a palace was built on the banks of the Dyatlovka River by the foundation of Nikolai Faustin Radziwill. M. F. Radziwill (1688-1746) was a military and statesman of the era of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania. Chashnik and swordsman the great Lithuanian, Voivode of Novogrudok, Lieutenant General.

Then, from the end of the 18th century, the owners of the palace were the Soltans. Since the Soltans took part in the anti-Russian uprising in 1831, the estate was confiscated by the tsarist authorities and the palace was adapted for military barracks of cavalrymen. At the beginning of the 20th century, a school worked here, and in Soviet times there was a regional hospital.

The estate was built from several parts: a stone two-storey palace, a lake, a landscape park and small architectural works, including pavilions and bridges. In the second half of the 19th century, the artist and composer Napoleon Orda (1807-1883) visited the estate and left his drawing depicting a palace with a lake and a park.

The palace has been well preserved to our time. The building is rectangular in plan, at first it was covered with a hip roof. The facade is made in Rococo style with stucco molding and decorations: garlands, heraldic symbols, medallions and ornaments.

Above the main facade there is a front with the image of the symbol of the owners on which is a cartouche with the coat of arms of the Radziwills. Initially, the layout of the palace was enfiladed and the central place in the interior was occupied by a two-step staircase.
