Dvorets. Church of the Intercession.
The Dvorets was first mentioned in historical sources in the 15th century. At first, the place belonged to Fyodor Dovgaldovich, and then to Svidrigaila and Chancellor M. Kezgaila.
During the time of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania, a wooden Uniate church was built. The temple had a single dome and a tall bell tower. After the anti–Russian uprising in 1830-1831, the church was handed over to Orthodox believers. Then this church was dismantled and moved to the cemetery, where it was used as a chapel. During the fire, the chapel was destroyed.
In 1866, a stone Orthodox church was built on the site of the former Uniate church, which was consecrated in honor of the Intercession of the Most Holy Theotokos. The state treasury allocated money for the new church. The temple was designed by the provincial architect Mikhailovsky. The construction of the building lasted from 1866 to 1869.
The church was built in a pseudo-Russian style. It consists of four main parts: the vestibule, the refectory, the prayer hall and the apse. Above the narthex there is a two-tiered bell tower covered with a faceted dome. The main volume is rectangular, covered with a gable roof with a light drum and an onion. The church is surrounded by a stone fence with a gate.
An old Christian cemetery and the remains of a watermill have been preserved in the village.
