Dvorets. The Church of Anthony of Padua

In the town of the Dvorets, during the time of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania, the Kezgailo magnates were the owners for some time. In 1516, Nikolai Kezgailo financed the first church. In the 17th century, a miraculous icon of the Mother of God was kept in a Catholic shrine.

The building has been renovated and rebuilt many times. By the beginning of the 20th century, the church had an isosceles square in plan, which was covered with a four-pitched roof. The church had a wooden two-tiered bell tower.

Since the old church no longer met the needs of the Catholic parish, a new stone church was built in 1904. The new church was consecrated in honor of St. Anthony of Padua.

In Soviet times, the temple was closed and fell into disrepair. At the end of the existence of the Soviet Union in 1989, the shrine was handed over to Catholic believers. Donations began to be collected, and after the renovation, the church was opened.

The building was built as a three-nave basilica with two towers on the main facade. The central nave is covered with a gable roof, and the side ones are gable-roofed. The main facade is decorated with rustication, platbands. The towers are three-tiered. There is a figured pediment between the towers. There is an organ in the interior of the choir. There are several altars.

The church was built with Baroque and Renaissance elements. In the same style, a gate in front of the main facade was built of yellow brick. The fence is made of rubble stone.
