Description
The village of Duboe is located in the Pinsk district of the Brest region, 24 km from the city of Pinsk. Like all of Polesie, this place is rich in its sights. The history of the village is an incredible mosaic: an Orthodox monastery, Uniates, Jesuits, a 460-year-old oak tree, a French park, battles of the First World War, the Radziwills, the Kuzhanetskys. Historical events have accumulated here over the centuries. The village of Duboe is more than 500 years old. It is shrouded in legends and traditions and therefore very attractive to tourists.

The village of Duboe and its main attractions.
The oldest place in Duboy is the French Park. It is called French because it was designed according to the models of the French architect Le Nôtre. The park is designed so that the entrance gate and the pond, which reflects the sun, are on one line. Canals, ponds, and supports on which bridges once lay are still visible. A 460-year-old oak grows here, and it is from these trees that the village got its name. There are many ancient trees in the park, some of which are over 100 years old.
There is a wooden cross at the edge of the park. There was a monastery here until 1636. The manor house has not survived, as the Nazis blew it up before their retreat.
This park remembers so many people. Even King Stanislav Poniatowski himself was here, having come to admire the local beauty and the opening of the Dnieper-Bug Canal, of which the Pina River became a part in this place.
Next to the park there is a cemetery from the First World War. Russian and German soldiers are buried here. Descendants of German soldiers come here to visit the graves. There is a small wooden chapel in the cemetery. It is over a hundred years old.
The Church of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross, built in the second half of the 18th century by the Jesuits, is also interesting. The interior of the church has not been preserved - frescoes under a thick layer of whitewash, a crypt with unknown burials in the basement, a wooden crucifix by the wall. A local resident took it out of a pond, hid it and saved it, and before her death she gave it to him.
In 1811, a small church was built on the site of the former monastery. The initiator of the construction was the daughter of the first owners of the town of Duboe, Klotilda Kuzhenetskaya. The church is rectangular in shape, made in the classical style. The church is decorated with pilasters, and along the perimeter - a decorative cornice. The windows in the church are arched, which gives an additional interesting appearance to the church. On the territory of the church, a wooden bell tower has been preserved, built in the second half of the 19th century, when the church became Orthodox. A little further from the church there is an old wooden priest's house, built at the beginning of the 20th century.
On the way out of Duboe you can see a section of the legendary trilinka - a road surface invented 100 years ago by engineer Vladislav Trilinsky (hexagonal tiles, each edge of which is 20 cm.
Polesie is a wonderful place in Belarus, marked by amazing nature, historical events, many sights, names of our compatriots. This is the place where it is very good to think about the past, present and future of our country.
