Dubitsa. Dubitsa Station
Dubitsa railway station is the smallest station on the Brest Region railway, but its importance and uniqueness cannot be underestimated. This is the only railway station in the region included in the List of historical and Cultural Values of Belarus, which underlines its importance. This status was officially awarded to the building in 2016.
It is believed that the building of the Dubitsa railway station was built in 1897, timed to coincide with the 10th anniversary of the opening of the Brest – Chelm railway line. The decision to build this line with six stations (Brest-Litovsk, Koden, Dubitsa, Domachevo, Vlodava and Holm) was approved in November 1884, and traffic on it began in July 1887. At the beginning of the XX century, two trains ran on the Brest-Litovsk — Chelm line: postal-freight-passenger train No. 3, departing from Brest-Litovsk, and mixed train No. 39. The length of the route was 113 kilometers.
Before the war, the commandant's office was located here, but it was destroyed by a direct bomb hit. In 1945, near the railway station, soldiers of the 15th frontier post fought with the German invaders, defending the borders of the USSR. They were the first to take the blow of the fascists and courageously defended their positions.
In honor of these brave soldiers, several monuments were erected near the station. One of them is an obelisk with a plaque engraved with the names of fallen soldiers: Sergeant Artamonov, junior Sergeant Novikov and 16 other heroes.
The railway station building itself has survived. Bullet marks can still be seen on its red bricks. Currently, the building is being diligently restored to preserve its historical value and prevent it from falling into disrepair.
Dubica Station has also become a famous place in cinema. Historical films such as "Brest Fortress", "Sniper 2: Tungus", "Sniper 3: Heroes of Resistance", "Hunting for Gauleiter", "Role" and many others were shot here. The exhibits of the Brest Museum of Railway Equipment were often used for filming. Famous directors and actors such as Konstantin Lopushinsky, Gosha Kutsenko, Vladimir Gostyukhin, Anastasia Zavorotnyuk, Anna Snatkina and others visited and worked on the set. These celebrities have contributed to the creation of a cinematic heritage by perpetuating the memorable places of the Brest region on film.
