Dolginovo. Church of St. Stanislav.

The Church of St. Stanislaus was built of stone on the site of a burnt wooden church that had stood here for centuries. The church was built on donations from parishioners and thanks to the priest Kalasantiy Lvovich, who put a lot of effort into the construction of this church. The writer Adam Mickiewicz even mentions this respected man with an extraordinary mind in his poem “Dziady”.

Since its opening, the Church of St. Stanislaus has never been closed. It has survived wars, revolutions, anti-religious persecutions, the absence of its priest for a long period. And it has managed to survive!

Today, the majestic and beautiful Church of St. Stanislaus is in excellent condition. It is perfectly preserved and has a rather richly decorated interior. Next to the church, we can see a single-tier wooden bell tower from the 19th century and a copy of Michelangelo's sculpture. The well-kept area around the temple is enclosed by a stone fence, including a 19th-century gate. Behind the church is an empty building from the 19th - early 20th centuries, which is the former priest's house.

The Church of St. Stanislav in Dolginovo is located on the way to the famous Budslav Church, the distance between them is a little more than 20 km. This church is definitely worth visiting, because it is also very interesting, is an important architectural monument and a landmark of this area.
