David-Gorodok. Monument to Prince David.

The central administrative square is located in the historical center of David-Gorodok, Stolin district. The Orthodox Church of the Kazan Mother of God and the city Executive Committee were built on the square, which was previously called the trade square.

In 2000, a monument to Prince David, who is considered the founder of the city of David Gorodok, was erected on the outskirts of the square. The part of the square where the monument is now called David Square.

In the 11th and 12th centuries, the territory of today's Stolin district was part of the Galician–Volyn Principality. Prince David was one of the representatives of the Principality of Volhynia. Prince David Igorevich (c. 1058-11112) was a prince of Volhynia and Dorogobuzhsky, son of Prince Igor Yaroslavich, grandson of Prince Yaroslav the Wise of Kiev.

According to one version, those princely graves that were found during excavations on Castle Hill in David Gorodok in 1937-1938 could belong to Prince David Igorevich.

To honor the memory of Prince David, a bronze monument was erected on the square in 2000. The author is the Belarusian sculptor Alexander Dranets. It is believed that every tourist and guest of the city should take a picture with Prince David.
