Description

On the very outskirts of the city of Pinsk there is a village called Cherneevichi, which has actually become a suburb of the city. The place, famous since the 15th century and throughout its history, belonged to many owners: the princes Pinsky, Fursov, Nelyubovich, Golovich and Skirmunt.

In the 19th century, the Skirmunts built a palace on the estate and laid out a landscape park. The palace has not been preserved to our time. A landscape park with ponds and alleys is in a neglected state.

Cherneevichi. Skirmunt Park.

The village of Cherneevichi is located in the very west of the city of Pinsk and is already practically a suburb of the city. An ancient park with a pond has been preserved here. Cherneevichi was first mentioned in historical sources in the 15th century. In 1495, Princess Maria of Pinsk granted a privilege to the noble Furs Ivanovich to own an estate in Cherneevichi.

Furs Ivanovich had four sons: Simon, Venedikt, Athanasius and Gregory. The village of Cherneevichi was inherited by the middle son Venedikt, who served Prince Fyodor of Pinsk.

After the Furs, the new owners of the place were the Nelyubovichi. In the 19th century, representatives of the Skirmunt family became the owners here. At the end of the 19th century, Vikenty Skirmunt owned a manor house with a park and outbuildings. At that time, the area of the estate in Cherneevichi was 410 acres of land.

During the First World War and until the 1920s, there were new owners from the Golovich family. Then the estate returned to the Skirmunts, which they owned until 1939.

Skirmunts in the 19th century, a landscape park was planted in Cherneevichi and a palace was built. The building was destroyed in the post-war period. A small park with an area of about 6 hectares has been preserved to this day. The park has several ponds, alleys and canals. Elms, chestnuts, lime trees and hornbeams grow here. The park is in a neglected state. Ponds are shallow and overgrown with shrubs.
