Busyazh. Assumption Church.
In the village of Busyazh, Ivatsevichi district, there is a stone Orthodox Assumption Church. Busyazh was first found in historical sources in the 16th century during the time of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania. At that time it was the Novogrudok voivodeship of Slonim district.
In 1645, the estate was owned by Albrecht Praslavsky, and then belonged to Jan Meleshko, who held the post of leader of Slonim. After some time, the property passed to the tycoon Kazimir Lev Sapieha.
Around this time, a wooden church was built, and in 1773-1779, a stone Uniate church was built on the site of the old temple.
A fair was held at the temple every August in the summer. The shrine belonged to the Carthusian monks, an order that was founded in the 11th century. During the time of the Russian Empire, after the prohibition of Uniatism in 1839, the church was transferred from the Uniates to the Orthodox believers in 1840. During the Great Patriotic War, the monument was damaged.
The church was built in the late Baroque style. The main volume in the plan has a rectangle. The main facade is decorated with a figured Baroque pediment, currencies, pilasters and has a developed entablature. A bell tower rises above the facade. A four-sided apse is attached to the main volume. The interior is of a communal type. In front of the church is a two-tiered stone four-tiered bell tower. The territory of the church is surrounded by a stone fence.
