Bukhlichi. Church of the Nativity of the Virgin.
In the very south of Stolin district there is a small village of Bukhlichi. The wooden Orthodox Church of the Nativity of the Virgin stands in the middle of the village.
The first mention of the church dates back to the era of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania before 1777. During the war in the early 1920s, the church was severely damaged by fire. After the Riga Peace of 1921, the Buchlichi came under the rule of the Polish state.
At that time, in 1928, the temple was renovated. The church worked all the time during the Great Patriotic War and during the Soviet years.
In recent years, the church has been significantly restored - major repairs were carried out: the domes were restored, windows and doors were installed, and the roof was changed. The church was built in a pseudo-Russian style. Some researchers note that the architecture of the temple has features of constructivism.
The temple was built according to the canonical elongated axial composition of four main parts. The building consists of a vestibule, a refectory, a prayer hall and an apse. A three-tiered eight-on-four bell tower is built above the vestibule. A porch with a canopy on two pillars is attached to the porch. A two-tiered light drum rises above the main volume, eight on four, which is completed with an onion dome.
In the interior of the temple there is an iconostasis with ancient icons of the 17th - 18th centuries, among which there are "God Mother of Odigitria", "Pantokrator the Savior", "Nicholas the Wonderworker" and others. There is also a valuable copy of the 18th century Gospel.
