Brest Railway Station is one of the symbols of Belarus, an architectural monument under the auspices of UNESCO. This is the "gateway" to the legendary land of heroes.

The first building of the Brest railway station was built in 1886. It was opened in the same year in the presence of Emperor Alexander 3 himself. The station had the appearance of a "medieval castle" with four water towers and was equipped with water heating. It also became the first on Russian railways where electric lighting was installed.

During the First World War, the station building was severely damaged. The Polish authorities decided to build a new building. During the Great Patriotic War, the fascists were unable to destroy the building: for 9 whole days the railroad workers held the defense in it, hiding in the labyrinths of the basements, until the Nazis flooded the passages.

In the period from 1953 to 1957, a large-scale reconstruction of the station building was carried out. It became the pearl of the Stalin era: additional extensions containing marble and granite, as well as the famous spire and star, appeared. The next time the station was renovated was in 1993 - 1994.

Brest Railway Station witnessed important historical events, including the signing of peace treaties and the movement of troops. The Brest railway station played a key role in the transport system of Belarus and the entire Eastern Front during the First and Second World Wars. He also saw many historical figures. For example, shortly after the opening of the building, on August 29, 1886, Emperor Alexander 3 and his son Nicholas met the heir to the German throne, Prince Wilhelm, at the station. Lenin stopped here on his way to Germany. Klim Voroshilov, Nikita Khrushchev, Alexey Kosygin, Peter Masherov, Sergey Smirnov, Valentina Tereshkova have been here. Khrushchev and Brezhnev, as well as French President Georges Pompidou.

Today, the Brest-Tsentralny railway station is one of the architectural monuments of the Republic of Belarus, it is an active open-air marble museum.

The unique structure of the station building harmoniously fits into the style of a modern city: it has columns and large windows, the facade is decorated with decorative elements that emphasize the grandeur and importance of the structure. The interior interiors are also distinguished by elegance and functionality, providing comfort for passengers. The station continues to perform its functions, providing passenger transportation both within the country and abroad. It is an important part of urban life.

The railway station in Brest is not only a transport hub, but also a historical and cultural value that attracts the attention of both locals and tourists.
