Description
In the Brest residential district of Vostok there is a Park of internationalist soldiers, created in honor of the Afghan soldiers who did not return from the war. In memory of them, there is a monument in the park with a plaque that says: "To our military friends who died on the soil of Afghanistan." An armored personnel carrier is located at the entrance to the park.
During the summer, the park has attractions, a zoo and a concert venue for local events. In 2017, a large-scale reconstruction of the park took place, which included the creation of sports grounds, a play area, bike paths, parking lots and other facilities.

Brest. Park of internationalist soldiers
The Park of International Soldiers in Brest can be confidently called an ecologically clean corner of this beautiful city. The park area smoothly turns into a picturesque forest, and sometimes it is even difficult to notice where the park ends and the forest area begins with paths, narrow paths and small furry inhabitants of these picturesque places.
There are attractions on the edge of the park, attracting young residents of the city along with their parents. The concert terrace, located on the edge of the park, often becomes a venue for performances by small groups of artists and various dance events.
At the entrance to the park, on an impressive pedestal, you will be greeted by an armored personnel carrier BTR-60, reminiscent of the victims of the Afghan war. There is a memorial plaque on the monument with the inscription: "To the comrades who died on the lands of Afghanistan." To the right of the pedestal is an alley that will lead you to the heart of the park – to the monument to Afghan soldiers. This quiet and peaceful place, far from the hustle and bustle of the city, pleases the eyes of everyone who has chosen it for a holiday.
The Park of International Soldiers is also considered one of the main places for cultural celebrations and public walks.
