The Church of Saints Peter and Paul in the village of Brazdetchino is an architectural monument in the retrospective Russian style.
The Church of Saints Peter and Paul in Brazdetchino is a historical church built in 1875. It is an architectural monument in the style of the retrospective-Russian style.
The composition of the temple structure is symmetrical. The key element is the octagonal drum. Elements of ancient Russian architecture were used to create the decorative appearance.
The interior of the temple is decorated with ornamental frescoes, fragments of which have been preserved in the apse, on the dome and arches of the chapel.
In the late 1950s, the church was closed, its building was used to store pesticides, grain, cement and electrical equipment, which led to its gradual destruction. In the 20s of the XX century, due to the persecution of Orthodoxy, the temple was also closed. However, during the war, thanks to the efforts of the parish and the rector, the church was restored and services resumed.
In 1992, the restoration of the temple began, during which domes were installed. On January 10, 1993, the community was registered, and on December 4, 1996, on the feast of the Entry of the Most Holy Theotokos into the temple, the first service after the renovation took place in the church. The restoration, completed in 1996, not only restored the building, but also revived the spiritual life of the village, giving believers the opportunity to hold services and participate in church life.
Since then, the church has continued to serve as the center of the spiritual life of the village, and its restoration has contributed to the revival of the Orthodox community.
Today it is a beautiful and majestic ancient temple, which is definitely worth a visit.
