The Museum of Traditional Culture of the Braslav region is an important center for the study of the folk culture of the region.
The interior of the museum is divided into three levels, each of which is dedicated to different aspects of folk art. The following main exhibitions are presented here:
*Braiding: The complex dedicated to braiding from straw, vines and other natural materials includes ancient devices found during archaeological excavations, as well as products by famous weaving masters such as P. Korenik, I. Kravchenko, I. Dvoretsky, K. Lukyants and M. Cherkas.
*Carvings: The exhibition "Carvings of the Braslav region" shows the works of masters, including P. Zelyavsky, K. Lapkovsky and I. Shpakovich.
*Weaving: In the weaving workshop, where the looms and tools for processing flax and wool are located, you can see samples of the products of local weavers.
*Pottery: Special attention is paid to the pottery workshop, which presents ceramics typical of the north of Belarus, including the work of the famous potter N. Kuzminova.
The museum has two exhibition halls, where exhibitions of artists' works and decorative and applied art products are regularly organized. There is also a souvenir shop on the museum's premises, where visitors can purchase products from local craftsmen. The 'Near Lake' Folk Club, which unites more than 60 masters of traditional crafts, is actively working at the museum, which contributes to the preservation and development of the folk culture of the Braslav region.
The Museum of Traditional Culture is not only a repository of folk heritage, but also an important educational center that promotes the popularization of traditional crafts and cultural values of the region.
