Previously, this area belonged to the Horde family. On the territory of the estate there was a luxurious palace and a family chapel-tomb. The chapel-tomb of the Hordes in Brakovo is an architectural monument of the 19th century in the Neo—Gothic style.
The chapel was erected and consecrated in 1852 by order of Peter Orda in memory of his wife. The Neo-Gothic chapel is unique among the architectural forms familiar to the area. Tall spires, stained glass windows and decorative elements create an atmosphere of solemnity and tranquility. The main materials used in the construction include yellow brick and stone, which gives the chapel durability and a noble appearance.
The chapel-tomb is not only a resting place, but also a symbol of respect for the cultural heritage of the Orda family, which has made a significant contribution to the development of the region. The Hordes owned the estate until 1927. It is known that almost all significant representatives of the Horde branch are buried in the crypt of the chapel.
In the Soviet years, the chapel was used as a grain storage, at the same time a side extension appeared. It was only in 1990 that the chapel was repaired and returned to the faithful. In 2007, after the restoration work was completed, divine services resumed in the church.
Today, the chapel serves as an important reminder of the history and traditions of the local people. It attracts the attention of tourists and researchers. The place is well maintained and maintained, allowing visitors to enjoy its architectural beauty and unique atmosphere. The chapel also becomes a venue for cultural events and excursions related to the history of Brakovo and its surroundings.
The chapel-tomb of the Hordes in Brakovo is an important historical and cultural site that is worth visiting for anyone interested in the architecture and history of the region. It not only serves as a place of remembrance, but is also a beautiful example of Neo-Gothic architecture.
