Description

The Sukhodolsky estate, located in the village of Bolshaya Rogoznitsa, is an interesting historical and architectural object. In the second half of the 17th century, representatives of the Sukhodolsky family, the coat of arms of Yanin, became the owners of Bolshaya Rogoznitsa. In 1791, Anthony Sukhodolsky, the last governor of Grodno, a participant in the Seimas of 1778, laid a manor house in Rogoznica, which has survived to this day. It is a striking example of the manor architecture of that time.

The Sukhodolsky estate in the village of Bolshaya Rogoznitsa is an interesting historical and architectural object.

The manor was built for the Sukhodolsky family, which played a significant role in local history. At different times, the estate served not only as a living space, but also as the center of the cultural life of the region.

After Anthony's death, the estate passed to his eldest son Jan Sukhodolsky, treasurer of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania, who in 1794 supported the uprising led by Tadeusz Kosciuszko. Over time, the estate passed to Shabansky.

The architectural style of the estate combines elements of classicism and romanticism. The building is surrounded by a picturesque park, where you can find rare species of trees and shrubs. The estate also includes outbuildings that were used for farming.

The main attraction of the estate is the manor house built by Sukhodolsky, which has survived to our time. This is a one-storey house with a mezzanine, included in the overall composition due to a four-column portico. The beautiful columns of the portico on the main facade support a frieze decorated with garlands, on which the attic rises. The decorative curly ends of the columns also look very interesting.

On the other hand, the central two-storey part of the house is highlighted with a risalite, decorated with pilasters and completed with a triangular pediment, on which you can see the date of construction of the house - 1791.

An 18th-century brama has also been preserved here. It looks unusual for our time: two wide square buildings located on the sides of the road, built of brick with the use of decor.

Today, the estate requires restoration, but it continues to attract the attention of tourists and historians. Local authorities and public organizations are working to preserve this cultural heritage.

The Sukhodolsky Estate in Bolshaya Rogoznitsa is not only an architectural monument, but also an important part of the history of the region, which continues to inspire researchers and history lovers.
