Bolshaya Lysitsa. Church of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross.

In the Nesvizh district, in the town of Bolshaya Lysitsa, a stone Orthodox church was built at the local cemetery, which was consecrated in honor of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross. It is very easy to visit and see the monument, since the place is located next to the M1 highway.

The church began to be built during the Russian Empire in 1905. The construction was completed in 1915 or 1918. Nearby was an ancient wooden temple, which in Soviet times was dismantled for firewood for a local school.

The shrine was built at the expense of parishioners and patrons. The construction and fundraising were led by the residents of the town: Peter Maleyko and Mikhail Senj, who are buried next to the altar of the temple. Protopriest Matvey Kritsuk served in the church for about twenty years, and was arrested in 1950 after being denounced.

The church was closed in 1960. At that time, the locals protected the temple and did not allow it to be destroyed. At the end of the Soviet Union in 1990, the church was returned to Orthodox believers. Fundraising and renovation began, which lasted a long time. It was only in 2015 that the church was restored and consecrated again.

The monument was erected on a hill and is the architectural dominant of the town. It was built in the neo-Russian style of red brick and granite blocks. The foundation is granite. The building consists of four main parts: a vestibule, a refectory, a prayer hall and an apse. A bell tower is built over the vestibule.

The territory near the temple is landscaped.
