Description
St. George's Church (White Church) is an Orthodox church in Bobruisk, built in 1905-1907 in the pseudo-Russian style as a garrison church for military units located in the Bobruisk fortress. Previously (in pre-Soviet times) the church was called St. Nicholas, after restoration in 1992 it was consecrated in honor of St. George the Victorious. People call the church the "white church" because of the color of the buildings, which are shining white. Currently, there is a Sunday school, a youth center, a library with church literature, a methodological office and the Sisterhood of St. Juliana Lazarevskaya, which provides assistance to sick people, the needy and orphans.

Bobruisk. St. George's Church.
The St. George Church in the city of Bobruisk was built in 1905-1907 as a garrison church for military units located in the Bobruisk fortress.
At the beginning of the 20th century, due to the loss of the fortification significance of the Bobruisk fortress, the esplanade was allowed to be built up – the space around the walls, prohibited for construction due to defensive purposes. Accordingly, a new garrison church was built in the immediate vicinity of the main entrance to the fortress, on the Minsk suburb. In 1907, Bishop of Minsk and Turov Mikhail (Temnorusov) consecrated the newly built garrison church. It is highly likely that Tsar Nicholas II visited the St. George Church during his visit to Bobruisk in 1916.
In 1928, the St. George Church followed the fate of most churches in the Soviet Union. The domes were torn off the church, the bell tower was destroyed, and a sewing factory was set up in the disfigured building. During the war, the church housed German auto repair shops, and after the war, a canteen and the Lenin Library.
In 1990, the church building was returned to the believers. With the blessing of the rector of the church, Archpriest Gennady Veigo, the restoration plan was drawn up in such a way that the restored church building would repeat the destroyed one even in small details.
In 1992, construction of a bell tower began in the church, and in September 1992, bells were purchased. In March 1993, a tent roof with a dome topped with a gilded cross was erected on the bell tower. In 1994, a tent with a dome and a cross was installed over the altar area, surrounded by four small domes with crosses. 1995 – the church was completely plastered, doors and windows were installed. In the same year, a carved iconostasis with icons by masters of the Moscow icon painting school was installed in the church.
In 1995, with the completion of major repair and restoration work on the church building, an architectural project for a two-story Spiritual and Educational Center with a room for the sacrament of baptism was created. Its construction began in May 1996, and on November 1, 1998, the building of the Spiritual and Educational Center opened its doors. Today, the Spiritual and Educational Center combines not only educational, but also publishing, charitable, missionary, and educational and methodological activities. The center has a Sunday school, the youth center of St. John the Theologian, the sisterhood of St. Juliana Lazarevskaya, a methodological office, and a church library. The center coordinates cooperation with executive authorities, education and health care, preschool institutions, correctional institutions, military units, and holds seminars and conferences.
All the buildings of the temple complex are painted white, preserving the tradition of calling the St. George's Church "White Church" by the townspeople. The temple is one of the symbols of Bobruisk, its images can be seen on postcards, booklets, photo albums dedicated to the city of Bobruisk.

Babruysk. Church of St. George.
The Church of St. George was built at the Minsk forstadt as a garrison church and consecrated in 1907. It was built according to the standard project that was distributed on the territory of the Russian Empire. During Soviet times, the church was closed and a workshop for sewing clothes was located there. After the war, there was a canteen here, and then a library.
In 1990, the church was returned to the believers, who began to restore it. The church building is architecturally built in the Moscow-Yaroslavl style. Has the status of an architectural monument.
