A sweet journey: what awaits guests on a tour of the "homeland" of marshmallows in Bobruisk

The city of Bobruisk has long ceased to be associated only with beavers and the famous prison. For all those with a sweet tooth in Belarus and neighboring countries, it is the capital of marshmallows and marmalades. For more than 155 years, the legendary "Krasny Pishchevik" factory has been operating here, an enterprise with a rich history and modern production, which hospitably opens its doors to visitors.

From a yeast factory to an industrial giant.

The history of the factory began back in 1870, when the merchant Hanon Raitsin founded a yeast factory in Bobruisk, where only three people worked. In Soviet times, the company was reconstructed into a confectionery factory, and already in 1934 the first batch of the famous Bobruisk halva was produced here, and a little later they mastered the production of marshmallows. Today, "Krasny Pishchevik" OJSC is the second largest producer of marshmallows and marmalade products in the CIS, with an assortment of hundreds of treats.

Welcome to production!

An excursion to the factory is not just a walk through the workshops, but a real immersion in the world of confectionery art. As a rule, the visit begins in a cozy hall, where guests are shown a short film about the history of the company, its legendary leaders and modern achievements. This helps to get a feel for the scale and traditions of production, where some female workers have been working for 20-30 years.

The most interesting part begins when the group goes to the production halls - to the very heart of the factory. Visitors can see how their childhood favorite sweets are born very close to them. The tour passes through several key points:

· Marshmallow line: The main pride of the factory. Here you can observe how the air mass turns into neat halves of the future marshmallows, which are then "glued together" and sprinkled with powder.

· Marmalade workshop: A fascinating sight where colorful slices, bears or worms appear from the fruit and jelly mass. This is especially exciting for children who watch the process with their mouths open.

· Handmade workshop: Here you can see how unique or more complex types of products are created that require a special approach and precision of craftsmen.

Tasting and emotions.

The highlight of any visit is the tasting. Guests are invited to try freshly made products. Depending on the season and luck, it can be the popular "Dandelion" marshmallows in dark chocolate and with nuts, marmalade mushrooms or juicy slices with lemon and orange flavors. To taste sweets that literally "just came off the assembly line" is an indescribable feeling.

Who would be interested?

Excursions to "Krasny Pishchevik" will be interesting for absolutely everyone. For children, this is an opportunity to find out where sweets come from and instill respect for work. For adults, this is a chance to see modern automated production, which today produces not only classic types of marshmallows and marmalades, but also new products: VeryBerry chewable marmalade, halWOW nut pastes, Sweetlo kazinaks and even ice cream.

College students and undergraduates can look at manufacturing as a potential place for future work by assessing the scale and cleanliness of the workshops. And tourists from other cities, visiting Bobruisk as part of a tour, combine a visit to the factory with a walk through the Bobruisk fortress or a meeting with a local art object - a Beaver.

Practical information.

It is recommended to plan excursion programs in advance, especially for organized groups. A visit usually lasts about an hour and a half, and believe me, this time flies by unnoticed, leaving behind a sweet aftertaste and a desire to come back again.
