Bliznaya. Alexander Nevsky Church.

As you drive from Ruzhany to Slonim through Ruzhanskaya Pushcha in Pruzhany district, the village of Bliznaya will be on the left of the highway. A stone Orthodox church and the remains of a manor house have been preserved here. The place was first mentioned in historical sources in the 16th century during the time of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania.

The Alexander Nevsky Church was built during the Russian Empire in 1885-1888 at the local cemetery. The temple was assigned to the Church of Peter and Paul in Ruzhany. After the Great Patriotic War in the 1960s, the shrine was closed and the building began to fall into disrepair.

This continued until the Ruzhany parish was headed by a full-time graduate of the Minsk Theological Seminary, a young and educated priest, Alexander Senh, who took on the burden of rebuilding the church. Initially, all the villagers who supported Father Alexander's initiative were gathered. Believing the priest and his good intentions, each of the residents decided to donate one of their pensions. Some have sacrificed more. The result was not slow to come: materials were purchased and work began. Within a year, the temple was covered, and on December 19, 2005, the dome of the temple was crowned with a cross.

The church was built in a very unusual and unusual way for this region. The building is built of rubble stone and brick, with Romanesque features.

The building consists of three main parts: a vestibule, a prayer hall and an apse. A four-pointed bell tower has been erected above the vestibule. An onion dome is located above the main volume on an octagonal drum.
