Bliznaya. Alexander Nevsky Church.

As you drive from Ruzhany to Slonim through Ruzhanskaya Pushcha in Pruzhansky district, there will be a village Bliznaya to the left of the highway. A stone Orthodox church and the remains of a manor house have been preserved here. The place was first mentioned in historical sources in the 16th century during the time of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania.

The Alexander Nevsky Church was built during the Russian Empire in 1885-1888 at the local cemetery. The temple was assigned to the Church of Peter and Paul in Ruzhany. After the Great Patriotic War in the 1960s, the shrine was closed and the building began to fall into disrepair. After the collapse of the USSR, the church was handed over to Orthodox believers and the building was renovated. In 2005, the temple started working again.

The church was built in a very unusual and unusual way for this region. The building is built of rubble stone and brick. The temple is built in a Romanesque-style. The building consists of three main parts: a vestibule, a prayer hall and an apse. A four-pointed bell tower has been erected above the vestibule. An onion dome is located above the main volume on an octagonal drum.
