The railway station in the village of Bigosovo is a unique architectural monument of the early 20th century.

Bigosovo Railway Station, located in the Vitebsk region, is an important hub on the railway line connecting the key cities of the region. Its authentic architecture and atmosphere preserve the spirit of past eras.

The architecture of the station is made in a typical style for the early 20th century, with decorative elements emphasizing its historical significance. Despite some changes in the appearance of the station, the main architectural features of the building have been preserved: the spire and turrets, massive walls and porch, as well as the semicircular shape of the windows above the central entrance. Inside the building, you can see the original decoration elements and details related to its past.

You can learn more about the history of the station in the library located in the local House of Culture. Among the memorable events, it is worth noting the funeral train, which carried the body of the famous tenor Leonid Sobinov from Riga to Moscow, as well as the launch of the continental passenger train Bigosovo – Manchzhuria.

There are two memorial plaques on the southern facade of the building in memory of the Hero of the Soviet Union E.V. Lavrinovich, who was born in the Biga region, and the tankmen who liberated the village in 1944, saving the station from destruction.

This place is interesting not only from the point of view of railway history, but also as an example of preserved cultural heritage.
