Bezdezh. Catholic Church of the Holy Trinity.
There is an ancient town of Bezdezh in the Drogichin district. It was first mentioned in 1409 and is considered the oldest town in the Drogichin region. During the time of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania, it was part of the Brest Voivodeship of the Pinsk region.
There are several temples and historical artifacts in Bezdezh, including a museum. There is a stone chapel by the roadside, which was built in honor of the Constitution on May 3, 1791, according to one version, as there are other considerations. For example, that it was built in honor of the events of the Northern War. Locals call it the "Red Tower", "chapel", or "Vizha". A few years ago, the chapel was plastered and whitewashed.
After the third partition of the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth, Bezdezh was annexed to the Russian Empire and was first part of the Slonim governorate, then the Lithuanian and Grodno governorates.
During the Great Patriotic War, 146 residents of the town did not return from the front, and a monument was erected in their memory in 1975.
In the center of the village there is a Catholic church, which was consecrated in honor of the Holy Trinity. The church was built in 1818-1820 in the classical style. The sponsors of the Catholic shrine were representatives of the famous Orda family, from which the artist and composer Napoleon Orda comes.
The building has a rectangular shape and is covered with a gable hip roof. On the main facade there is a triangular pediment above the entrance portal. The interior is single-nave. Previously, there was a three-tiered stone bell tower in front of the church, which has not survived to our time.
