Description

The manor house in Benyuny is an object that attracts attention from all sides. The area here is very picturesque: a small lake where a white heron nests, the ruins of an old watermill, manicured terraces and a restored manor house seem to have been created for photographs.

The Karchevsky Estate is a historical place surrounded by picturesque landscapes.

The Karchevsky Estate, located in the Grodno region, is a unique cultural site that attracts tourists and researchers. This historical place, surrounded by picturesque landscapes, is an excellent example of a noble nest that has preserved elements of architecture and culture of the past centuries. Today, the manor is an important cultural center that attracts tourists who want to plunge into the atmosphere of bygone eras.

The estate was founded in the 19th century. The Karchevsky family acquired land to create a luxurious estate combining architecture and nature. At first there was a small wooden house, which was expanded with the development of the family. Commercial and residential buildings appeared, as well as a park with rare plants.

The history of the Benyuny has been known since the 16th century, when they were owned by the tatar Furs family. For 200 years, the estate changed several owners, until in 1809 the Sobolevskys sold it to Jozef Karchevsky. Jozef came from an old noble family and was a wealthy man. He moved to Benyuny with his wife and son Julian.

The war with Napoleon caused damage to the Karchevskys: the estate was looted and burned. After the war, Karchevsky decided to rebuild the farm, building everything anew. By 1828, the family lived in a wooden house on a stone foundation. There was a bakery, a cheese factory and a brewery in the basement, and living quarters on the second floor. The house was comfortably furnished: parquet floors, stoves, fireplaces, expensive furniture, carpets and paintings. Jozef paid attention to the library, which had 3,000 volumes in different languages.

In 1939, all the books were confiscated.

The Karchevsky Estate is not only an architectural monument, but also a place to enjoy the silence and beauty of nature. Walking tours of the territory allow you to see ancient buildings, learn about the life of the Karchevsky family, as well as explore the folklore and traditions of the region.

When planning a trip to Belarus, it is worth including the estate in the itinerary. You can book an excursion through various travel services.
