Benitsa. The Church of the Holy Trinity.

The village of Benitsa is located in the Molodechno district, 20 kilometers from the city on the Benichanka river. The first mention of Benica in historical sources was in the 16th century. First it belonged to the Ostroukhs, and then to the Volovichi.

In 1701, the great Lithuanian scribe Michal Kazimir Kotell gave funds for the construction of the church. The church was transferred to the Catholic Order of the Bernardines, who founded a monastery at the temple.

There is a legend that in 1700, Kotell was traveling with his family from Benitsa to Oshmyany and the horses suddenly carried a manor carriage, which at that time had only Kotell's little daughter. And at that moment, he only managed to ask for protection and help from the Mother of God and, suddenly, the horses stopped dead in their tracks. Thanks for such a rescue, Kotell swore an oath to build a church, which he fulfilled.

In 1851, after the anti-Russian uprising, the monastery was closed, and the church was handed over to Orthodox believers. In 1919, in Polish times, the building was again returned to Catholics. In Soviet times, after the war, the temple was closed.

The church was built in the late Baroque style. Two-towered facade. Above the middle cross there is a dome, above which there is an octagonal drum with a turret. On the main facade there are three-tiered towers with a figured pediment. A spiral staircase leads to the tower.

The interior has choirs on 2 columns. There are also three tombstones of the Kotell family with commemorative signs made in the knock technique. The church has a crypt with the graves of the Shvykovskys and Kotells.

There is a stone gate with a fence in front of the church. The gate is reinforced with buttresses.

The burials in the crypt were looted in Soviet times. The church is closed and in a neglected state.
