Belynichi. V. K. Byalynitsky-Birulya Art Museum.
On the way from Minsk to Mogilev there is a small small town of Belynichi. In 2020, the republican holiday Belarusian Writing Day was held in this place and a new museum named after V. K. Byalynitsky-Birulya was opened.
The history of the museum begins in 1969. The director of the State Art Museum of the BSSR, Elena Aladova, and the family of the artist V. Byalynitsky-Birulya helped in the creation of the museum. Initially, the museum was based on an exposition dedicated to the famous artist Witold Byalynitsky-Birulya.
The museum was first located in the building of the local district executive committee, and then in the premises of the former cinema.
By 2022, the museum's collections numbered more than a thousand items. The new museum has three permanent exhibitions "Gallery of V. K. Byalynitsky-Birulya", "historical and cultural heritage of the region" and "spirituality". A hall for temporary exhibitions and expositions has also been created, as well as a modern room for storage facilities and museum equipment.
A fresco from the Carmelite church "Ascent to Golgotha" is presented in the museum hall "spirituality". In the 18th century, a Catholic church and monastery belonging to the Catholic Carmelite Order were erected in the center of Belynichi. The church was painted with colored frescoes in the Baroque style. The temple was demolished after the war and a few days before its destruction, Minsk restorers removed several frescoes from the walls of the temple and managed to restore them. Several frescoes are kept in the museum in Mogilev and several in Belynichi.
The museum has a collection of paintings by contemporary artists from the Mogilev region. In front of the museum there is a monument to V. Byalynitsky-Birulya.
